“I was skeptical when my friend asked me to try the massage bed at the new Migun of Madison's demonstration center. I questioned how a mechanical bed could promote improvement in the overall well being of the body.

During my career as a registered occupational therapist (OTR), I trained in and treated clients using the manual therapy techniques of CranioSacral Therapy (CST) and Visceral Manipulation (VM). Both these therapies use a very light touch to release accumulated life-time restrictions found in a thin multilayered, multidirectional connective tissue called fascia, which covers all of the somatic and visceral structures of the human body.

After having used the massage bed at the Migun demonstration center numerous times, this is the closest product I know of that promotes body healing as well as alignment of the musculoskeletal system when compared to the manual therapy of CST and VM that I practiced in. I find the Migun thermal massage bed does accomplish the body improvements as noted in the Migun literature. The acupressure pauses not only "treat" along the meridian lines, but it also loosens the tight fascia of the occiput at the base of the skull, at the level of the shoulder blades, the pauses noted are aligned with where the bronchial tubes enter the lungs; at the sacrum level, the tight hip/pelvic fascia is treated thus allowing releases for corrective mobility of these bones; the pauses at the knees and ankles also helps release the tight fascia in these areas thus accommodating the correction that takes place in the hip/pelvic area.

As an occupational therapist and massage therapist, I have highly recommended the Migun beds to many of my family, friends and medical colleagues (including chiropractors, PT's, OT's and RN's). The infra-red heat massages are a great way to improve health - especially since people become increasingly stressed in daily living and then carry more tension in their muscles. I have encouraged my massage clients to try the infra-red heat massage beds in between their regular massage sessions with me. It has been my good fortune to have discovered the Migun modality almost three years ago. As a DABCO, with extensive experience in adjunctive therapy, I was instantly impressed with the functional and anatomical effects on good alignment of body mechanics, range of motion and bilateral balance.

My only concern and question was the integrity of the manufacturing and are sales and service as dependable as the great design and engineering.

I have used the Migun equipment, jade massage bed personally (twice per day) and professionally 40 or more times in our offices on an average of 8 - 12 hours per day for almost three years without a breakdown or repair except for routine maintenance. Without a doubt, it is a perfect partner for the busy chiropractic physician, especially for the orthopedic practice. It needs training programs for non professional owners. It needs educational programs demonstrating the proper use, preparation, indications, and contraindications (which are few and obvious).

Most important, the program educates the public about chiropractic principles and leads them to other care, i.e., nutrition, exercise, detoxification, and lifestyle changes.

Used properly and promoted ethically this could represent the basis of a new and integrated model of practice for chiropractic to a new generation of what we call "health conscious people".

“After my first experience on the Migun thermal bed, I decided to test similar products to determine which suited me best. I found I preferred the Migun to the Nuga bed which does not give a full body massage because I like the calf/leg massage which is beneficial for my peripheral neuropathy. While there are more rollers on the Sensa bed, they do not massage as close to the spine as the Migun, nor do they hold the points with the same kind of heat intensity as the Migun does.
